GOD'S PROMISE ON ABRAHAM FROM THE BIBLE

Genesis (11:27)
Genesis chapter 11- chapter 24,we get to learn the full story of abraham until his death.
Abram was son to Terah,brother to Nahor and Haran.In (Genesis11 :27)we learn that Haran
died before his father Terah in their ancestral land.Abram got married to sarai who was barren
and had no child.Now, abram travelled from Ur to canaan then settled  to Haran,together with Terah and his grandson Lot and his daughter in -law sarai.

Terah lived upto two hundred and five years (205 yrs) Gnesis (11: 32) and died in Haran.
After death of his father ,Abram was commanded by God to leave his land to the land God will
show him.In (Genesis 12:2 ),God made these promises to Abram:

• I will make you a great nation.
• i will bless you
• i will make your name great
•  you will be a blessing to the whole nation 
• I will bless those who bless you
• i will curse those who curse you

Abram obeyed God's command and left ,along with him was Lot (son to Haran) .He left Haran at age of 75years.So abram took his wife sarai their possesions and Lot ,his brother's wife and left to Canaan. At Canaan,God yet made another promise to Abram (Genesis 12:7) "i will give this land to your descendants".

Abram seperated with Lot in Canaan,there was a strife between the herds men of Abram's
cattle and herdsmen of Lots cattle.This made them to seperate and Lot left after choosing himself
all Jordan valley ,(Genesis 13: 11) while Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan.Here God made the following promises to Abram.

• All the land you see will belong to your descendants forever.
• Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth .
• Your descendants will be counted like the dust of the earth .

Thereafter, Abram moved and dwelt at Oaks of Mamre and there he built an alter of God.
